About the Author

Shubha writes stories that turn simple moments into meaningful lessons.

Her journey as an author began with a simple belief: some of life’s most valuable wisdom is best shared through stories—especially at bedtime, when children are curious, calm, and ready to imagine.

Drawing from everyday experiences, conversations, observations, and the little lessons that often go unnoticed, Shubha creates stories that invite children to think, wonder, question, and discover their own meaning.

At the heart of her work is the belief that childhood should be given space to unfold gently. Her stories are not written to instruct children what to think, but to give those moments that help them discover how to think, feel, and see the world.

Our Illustrations - Where Stories Come to Life

At AKICO STUDIO, illustration is not decoration—it is part of the storytelling itself. Every illustration is thoughtfully curated and developed with a team of skilled creative professionals who translate ideas, emotions, characters, and imagination into visual worlds that children can connect with.

AKICO STUDIO intentionally chooses human-led illustration rather than AI-generated imagery, with the belief that young minds deserve to experience the texture, imperfection, emotion, and imagination that come from human creativity.

The aim is to create timeless, thoughtful, and safe storytelling that parents can trust—books that feel beautiful today and remain meaningful years from now.

For the author, words and illustrations are two halves of the same story. She writes and illustrates with a deep appreciation for visual storytelling, allowing ideas and emotions to move beyond the written page and live through characters, colour, expression, and imagination.

AKICO STUDIO is a global children’s IP and creative studio building original stories, characters and experiences for the next generation.

We bring together illustrators, animators and technologists to develop storybooks, children’s IP, screen-free experiences and digital media, with stories designed to grow into animation, film, licensing and broader consumer experiences.
